Celebrate Success!

Have you told the world about your successes? Being in the manufacturing software

Have you given your project team the celebration they deserve?

Have you given your project team the celebration they deserve?

industry for 25 years I have seen many companies undertake projects that have delivered enormous benefits to the company. Yet, many times, the team that made it happen does not get to celebrate in a big public way – at the scale that matches their accomplishment.

What can you do? Certainly internal celebrations are important, letting everyone in the organization know and ideally actually experience some aspect of the successful project. Beyond that, entering a contest is a great way to let your team, your management, your customers and the world join in a public celebration.

I had the distinct honor to be a judge for the Manufacturing Star Awards recently. The awards went to companies large (Boston Scientific, Infineon) and relatively small (ConforMIS) and in Asia and the US. Every entry was interesting and tells a story of a team putting their energy and effort into a project that made a big difference for the company. Congratulations to winners and special commendation companies (Extreme Networks, Ethicon – a division of Johnson & Johnson, and Roche Diagnostics). Thanks for sharing your shining examples with the world!

I hope that the teams from these and other companies will always step up to celebrate their successes publicly. This is just one of many awards programs in the industry that recognize the importance of the work people do to improve production companies every day. Easier management of manufacturing is a critical component of economic success around the world – so it’s cause for everyone to celebrate.
